How to How to fix a Samsung Galaxy A10 that keeps rebooting by itself


When a smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy A10 keeps rebooting on its own, the problem could either be with the firmware or hardware. What you have to do is troubleshoot your phone so that you can determine the reason or cause as to why the issue occurs. 

As long as this isn’t due to a hardware issue, you can certainly fix this problem. We have actually encountered this problem several times in the past and we know just what you need to do if your phone started to act weird. Fixing Galaxy A10 that keeps rebooting by itself

As I mentioned earlier, performance issues are often due to firmware problems but in troubleshooting this kind of problem, we need to be thorough to be able to determine what the problem is. So, here are the things you need to do to make your phone run perfectly again…

First solution: Restart your phone in Safe Mode

I once encountered this problem with my phone before and I knew right off the bat that the cause of the problem was a third-party application because I always take care of my devices and don’t sideload sketchy applications. However, there are applications from the Play Store, especially game apps that require a lot of resources. That’s one of the reasons why the phone would reboot by itself–when there isn’t enough RAM or the CPU could no longer cater more processes. 

My point is, it’s very much possible that this issue with your phone is caused by a third-party application that’s why it’s important that you restart your phone in Safe Mode to temporarily disable all downloaded apps. Here’s how it’s done: 

  1. Press and hold the Power key until options show. 
  2. Tap and hold the Power off option until it changes into Safe Mode. 
  3. Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
  4. Once the reboot is successful, you should see ‘Safe mode’ at the lower-left corner of the screen. 

If your Galaxy A10 doesn’t restart while in safe mode, then it’s confirmed that the cause of the problem is a third-party application. Try doing this: 

  1. Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode. 
  2. Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone started to keep rebooting.
  3. Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
  4. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
  5. Scroll to and then tap Apps. 
  6. Find and tap suspected app. 
  7. Tap Storage. 
  8. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
  9. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall. 
  10. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone. 

However, if the phone still keeps  rebooting without your intervention while in this mode, then it’s a possible firmware problem. Continue to the next solution.

Second solution: Use your phone while it’s charging

What we’re trying to achieve here is to know whether this problem is caused by a failing battery or hardware problem. If it’s just a defective battery, then your phone should not reboot if it’s connected to the charger because it already has a stable power source. So, even if the battery fails, the reboots should not occur while the phone is charging. If it is indeed the case, the best thing you can do about it is to bring the phone to a tech. 

However, if the phone still reboots even if it’s connected to the charger, then the problem could just be with the firmware. So, continue with the reset of the procedures below and see if you can get your phone to stop rebooting. 

Third solution: Reset all settings

It is also possible that some of the settings have  been changed or messed up. It’s difficult to determine what setting to change or what’s causing the issue so the best thing you could do is reset all settings so that they will be brought back to their default values. In doing this procedure, it would seem like you’re actually resetting your phone only that none of your files and data will be deleted. Here’s how it’s done: 

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
  3. Scroll to and tap General management. 
  4. Touch Reset. 
  5. Tap Reset settings. 
  6. Tap the Reset settings button. 
  7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern. 
  8. Finally, tap Reset.

After this and your phone still keeps rebooting by itself, then move on to the next procedure.

Fourth solution: Delete the system cache so it will be replaced

Another possibility that you have to consider is that the system cache may have been corrupted or is already obsolete. Random reboots may also result from this problem. The good thing about all this is that you can actually delete the system cache and your phone will create a new one. You can do so by wiping the cache partition of your phone and here’s how it’s done: 

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release the keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Wait until your phone becomes active and then continue using your phone to know if it still keeps rebooting on its own because if so, then there’s another thing you need to do and this time, it could be the end of the problem.

Fifth solution: Hard reset your Galaxy A10 that keeps rebooting

That’s right, a master reset is needed at this point in time. This will rule out the possibility that the random reboots are just due to a firmware issue. But before the reset, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data as they will be deleted. After the backup, make sure to remove your google and samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out of your phone after the reset. Once everything is set and ready, follow these steps to reset your device: 

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy S10 logo shows on the screen, release all keys. 
  4. Press the Volume down to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  5. Press Power button to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘Yes’.
  7. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  8. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If your Galaxy A10 still keeps rebooting on its own after the reset, then it’s time you brought it back to the store or shop so that a technician can check it for you. At this point, it’s safe to assume that the problem could be with its battery or the firmware needs to be re-flashed.
