Things to know about Face ID

You won’t be able to set up Face ID on your iPhone 11 if you haven’t set up a passcode on your device. This passcode will be set up for supplementary validation when your phone has just been restarted or you didn’t unlock your iPhone for over 48 hours. In times that you haven’t been able to unlock your phone using the Face ID for successive 5 attempts, the only way to unlock your phone now is to use the passcode. Face ID recognition won’t work if you have rebooted your phone or initiated SOS calls by simultaneously pressing and holding the Side/Power button and either volume buttons for at least 2 seconds. Face ID will also be deleted once you erase or reset your iOS device using Find My iPhone and/or performing a factory/master reset. If Face ID didn’t recognize your face even if you are closely facing the front camera, please know that this feature works best if your face is 25-50 cm away from your phone’s front camera.
