Power-saving mode usually comes in handy whenever your phone’s battery reaches the critical level and yet you still need to use it a little longer. Most, if not all recently released smartphones are already equipped with various power-saving functions that can be activated when needed. In this quick guide, I will walk you through activating and using the Galaxy S20 Power Saving Mode. Read on for more detailed instructions.

Activating the Galaxy S20 Power Saving Mode

The following steps and illustrations demonstrate how to access and configure power options to put the Galaxy S20 in power saving mode. The final output may vary depending on the selected power saving mode.

  1. Go to the Home and Apps screen then touch Settings. Alternatively, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel with the Settings icon shortcut.

    Doing so will launch the settings app and its menu options.

  2. Scroll down then touch on Device care.

    This opens another set of sub-menu (power) options.

  3. Select Battery from the given options.

    A new screen containing more details on battery usage, power management and charging information will be displayed.

  4. Navigate to the Power Management section then touch Power mode.

    This will show up a list of available power mode options you can use on your Galaxy S20.

  5. Scroll down to view different power mode options.

    Among the given options include high performance, optimized, medium power saving, and maximum power saving. To extend your phone’s battery life, you can choose between medium and maximum power saving.

  6. To select Medium power saving, tap to mark the radio button before it.

    Doing so will open the Medium power saving mode pop-up menu with the options to turn off always on display or limit CPU speed. You can make necessary adjustments to these settings then tap Apply when finished.

  7. To select Maximum power saving, tap to mark the radio button before it.

    This will launch the Maximum power saving mode pop-up with the same settings and options as the medium power saving mode. Make necessary adjustments to these settings then tap Apply when done.

The selected power saving mode will then be applied on your device. If you chose maximum power saving, your phone’s user interface will change because only the basic functions are left. There’s nothing to worry though because you can exit power saving mode when your phone is sufficiently charged.
