Also referred to as reverse charging, wireless powershare is an innovative feature that allows you to convert your Galaxy S20 into a wireless charger. In other words, you can share your phone’s battery with your other smart accessories wirelessly. If this is something new to you and you’re eager to give it a try on your new Samsung device, then this post will help you get started. Read on to find out how to charge your smart accessory using the Galaxy S20 wireless PowerShare feature.

Modern smartphones are already equipped with more advanced features and functionalities that were never seen in prior devices. While many high-end smartphones are able to charge wirelessly through compatible wireless charging pads or base, highest-tiered devices including the recently released Samsung Galaxy S20 can now be used as a wireless charger itself. This is made possible with the advanced charging feature called Wireless PowerShare. 

Charging a smart accessory with the Galaxy S20 wireless Powershare Feature

Time Needed : 5 minutes

With wireless PowerShare, you can charge your wireless charging capable accessories using your Galaxy S20. The following steps will walk you through the entire process.

  1. Drag down from the top of the Home screen to open the Notification panel.

    This will load up the shortcut icons and system controls.

  2. Next, drag down the Quick Settings panel to view more controls.

    Look for the small dash at the bottom center of the notification panel then drag down from there. Doing so will expand the panel and then a list of additional shortcut controls for most key features of the phone will populate.

  3. Search for and tap to select Wireless PowerShare to continue.

    A pop-up menu with Wireless PowerShare charging instructions will appear shortly.

  4. Put your phone face down on a flat surface as instructed.

    You can refer to the pop-up image, portraying the instructions.

  5. Then, place the wireless charging capable accessory on the back of your Galaxy S20.

    Be sure to position the accessory on the center back of your phone for it to charge as intended.

Granted that you’ve properly positioned the smart accessory, you should see a charging indicator on the accessory as the charging instigates. 

Just wait for the accessory to finish charging and once it’s done, you can remove it from the back of your phone.

Repeat the same steps to charge other wireless charging capable accessories with your Galaxy S20 wireless powershare feature.
